Where is Descon located?
Descon is located in Brownsburg, Indiana, just a few miles West of Indianapolis.

How long has Descon been designing and developing products for educational environments?
Descon was established in 1998 and has been designing, developing and manufacturing durable products for learning environments more than 15 years.

Are your products durable enough for our environment?
All products have been tested and are proven to withstand high traffic exposure in educational environments. We create all products by digitally printing high quality images on heavy duty vinyl or banner material, using no paper products. All vinyl images are laminated with heavy duty laminate and mounted on heavy duty plastic substrates.

Is there a minimum order charge?
For orders under $200.00, there is a minimum order charge of $25.00.

Can I see a sample of the material and/or color?
Yes. Contact a Sales Representative at 877-337-2661 to request a color sample of banner material. In addition, Descon will provide to you a layout proof of any customized order for your approval before we produce your order.

How do I place an order?
Feel free to contact a Sales Representative for a quote or to walk you through the order form. You may also print an order form and fax, mail, or email it to us. A Sales Representative will acknowledge your order within 1 business day of receiving your order.

What are my payment options?
We accept purchase orders from K-12 schools and government agencies.

We accept credit card payments using your MasterCard® card or Visa® card MasterCard(R) card and Visa(R) card logosMasterCard(R) cardVisa(R) card . To order via credit card, contact Descon for credit card authorization form or click here for a printable application.

We accept prepayment via check or money order. For a more expedient processing of your order, send a money order. Contact Descon sales representative before sending in payment to be sure you have the correct total including shipping charges.


Taxes
Please provide your tax exempt information at time of ordering or include your certificate with your payment. We do not collect "out-of-state" taxes.

Can Descon products be used outdoors?
No. All products are designed for indoor use only.

I want to add a logo or mascot. Do you have any logos/mascots that I can choose from?
Yes. Descon offers a variety of stock logo/mascot options. You can download our stock logo sheet to see if there is a logo that will work for your school. To place an order with a stock logo, simply include the item number of the logo you would like. If you do not see a logo that is appropriate for your school and would like Descon, Inc. to find or create a suitable logo, contact a Sales Representative for an estimate.

I want to add my school's logo/mascot to a product. Can you do that?
Yes. Descon will add any custom logo to products offering a logo option for a one-time $50.00 art fee as long as we get it in a useable format. See below "How do I submit my logo/mascot." Descon will keep your logo on file for future orders.

How do I submit my logo/mascot?
To submit a custom logo, please send a file electronically (preferred) or mail a printed version (ie- folder, calendar, decal), a hard copy of a 300dpi scanned image, or a CD via USPS. Please do not fax your logo as the quality will not translate well enough for us to remake the art appropriately.

We accept the following file types: eps, ai, pdf, tiff, and jpg, with a resolution of at least 300dpi. If you have a format that is not listed, we are happy to check it for usability. Send logo/mascot files in their original format, with any text converted to curves/outlines or font files provided, and with any linked files included. Please do not embed images. We do not accept Microsoft Office files (ie- Word) or images pulled from web sites. It is advised that any hard copy images be provided at a size of no less than 3" square. Failure to follow these requirements may result in extra charges and/or delays in production.

When needing to locate suitable logo/mascot files, consider these sources: your school/corporation's administrative, athletic, and media arts departments, as well as vendors of your signs, apparel, and stationary items.

How much is shipping on my order?
Shipping is 10% of your total order cost.

How long will it take me to receive my order?
Our standard turn-around time for orders is 2-3 weeks plus shipping time. During certain times of the year, we experience a higher volume of orders and our turnaround time will be longer. If you have a specific deadline to meet, please help us serve you better by contacting us in advance so we have sufficient time to fill your order.

How do I check the status of my order?
To check the status of your order, contact a Descon Sales Representative toll free 1-877-337-2661 or email Descon at sales@desconinc.com. If you include an email with your order, Descon will send you a shipping confirmation along with a tracking number for your order as soon as it is shipped.

What is your return policy?
As a manufacturer of customizable products, we do not stock any finished products and therefore do not accept returns. You are provided a layout proof for your final approval prior to production on any customized product to ensure that you are getting what you want. Please inspect your order for accuracy. Any concerns regarding your order must be reported to Descon within 14 days after receipt of the order.

What is your product warranty?
We offer a one year warranty against defects in quality of materials and workmanship.

We do not cover:
• Neglect
(Example: Attachment of foreign objects, use of markers, harsh chemicals, improper cleaning, improper storage, etc.).
• Vandalism
• Graffiti
• Any changes or alterations by owner


Because we cannot control how our products are installed or used, the customer assumes the responsibility in determining product suitability for its intended use. Descon will not warrant damage caused by improper installation.

What if my order arrived damaged?
We are committed to making sure your order gets to you in perfect condition. Orders are inspected for damage when they are packed, and all orders are in good condition when they leave our facility. However, accidents occasionally occur during shipping. If you see any damage when your order arrives, follow these steps:

• Open and inspect packages immediately upon delivery for possible damage.
• Keep all inner and outer original packaging materials if you are reporting a problem
• Reporting damage within 5 business days of delivery:
   1. Call our Customer Service Dept. at 1-877-337-2661 with details regarding the damaged package.
   2. We require digital pictures of the sign(s) and packaging be emailed to us showing the damage.
   3. Once all of the information has been reviewed, we will respond in 24 to 48 hours with the steps of how this will be resolved.

• Damage packages reported after 5 business days of delivery is the responsibility of the customer. You may file a claim online at: www.ups.com under the support tab ''File a Claim". Refer to the ''Damaged Package Claims Process" for more information.

BANNERS: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I put my own words on the banners or do you only offer the words shown?
Yes. You can use any wording of your choice on all banners.

Can I put a phrase on the banner?
Yes. If the phrase is more than 15 characters (including spaces), we may have to make the text smaller and put it on two lines. Please be aware that creating a banner with two smaller lines of text will decrease the distance from which the banner can be read. Another option that would not change the size of the text would be to use two separate banners that you could hang across from one another to create the entire phrase. When ordering banners with phrases, it is best to contact a Sales Representative to ensure the banner can be created to your specifications. If we receive your order and have an issue, we will contact you before we move ahead with the order.

I am not sure what words to use. Do you have any suggestions?

Yes. We have a list of word suggestions you can download if you need some ideas before you order.

Are all the banners double or single-sided?
All banners are double-sided. If you want to order a single-sided banner or have a special request, please call and talk to a Sales Representative.

What is a Designer Banner?
Designer Banners include a background pattern that has a faux finish appearance. The faux finish background matches all the products in our Standard Products line. Designer Banners are printed on vinyl and allow you to choose a banner, text and trim color. The DBDW02 and DBR02 banners in the Designer series are the only banners that offer you the option to use a logo. All banners meet flame resistance ratings by NFPA-701.

Can I see a sample of the material and/or color?
Yes. Contact a Sales Representative at 877-337-2661 to request a color sample of banner material. Also, all orders are shown a layout proof, or a picture of what their customized banners will look like before they are produced.

How do I hang the banners?
All banners come fully-assembled with a clear banner rail and three clips that attach to the suspended ceiling track for quick and easy installation.

My school doesn’t have suspended ceilings. Do you offer an alternative mounting?
Yes. Descon also offers wall mount brackets that mechanically fasten to dry wall, block and brick walls. The brackets allow the banners to hang at a 90 degree angle from the wall and run $60.00 per bracket. If you would like to purchase wall mount brackets, please contact a Sales Representative or enter item number WMB on your order from with the appropriate price.

How well do the banners hold up?
Descon offers a 1 year warranty on workmanship. We have schools that have had our banners hanging in their buildings for over 10 years.

Do your banners carry a fire rating?
Designer/Digital Banners: Flame Resistance (NFPA-701)

From what distance is the banner text readable?
The text on the banners is around 4 inches high and has maximum impact from up to 40 feet away. Readability will also be determined by your color selection. We recommend using a white or light color for text when selecting a dark background and a dark color for text when selecting a light background.
